Survey Research Analyst - Boston


Title: Survey Research Analyst
Reports to: Senior Research Director (Remote - NC)
Location: Boston, MA 

451 Research is a leading global analyst and data company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation. We are seeking a bright, creative, goal-oriented, hardworking, and motivated individual to fill the Survey Research Analyst position.  

The selected candidate will be a part of our primary research operations team that provides actionable data and insights to our analyst team and helps our clients understand the information technology market. You will work with the team to help develop, codify, sanitize, and manage our survey data and knowledge database for all web-based survey research across 451 Research. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage survey projects at all stages – including analysis of needs, development of survey instrument, programming and fielding, production of crosstabs, and final charts and figures
  • Participate in research scoping meetings with analyst staff in advance of survey development and fielding to ensure studies meet client and analyst data needs
  • Intuit and design survey logic/flow
  • Develop draft questionnaires with consistent methodologies and draft new questions with appropriate questions types
  • Develops coverage map after research meeting including the plan for or disposition of each point/topic raised in the meeting
  • Assist with all aspects of the surveying process – including sample segmentation and qualification, utilization of survey research and analysis platforms, production of demographic data, and data analytics
  • Work with analysts and clients to present survey data in a clear, easy-to-understand format

Work Experience:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of survey research methodology
  • Previous experience writing, conducting and analyzing data from online surveys
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, SAS)
  • Strong technical background – knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Visual Basic) or SQL a plus
  • Proven project management skills
  • Previous experience with Qualtrics preferred but not required

Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s plus six years of experience in a related field; or,
  • Master’s degree with 4 years of experience in a related field
