VoCUL: Samsung Demand Surges in Soft Smartphone Buying Environment (Leading Indicator)
Consumer Smartphone Demand: Smartphone demand has developed its own unique cycle, with planned buying increasing ahead of major Apple releases and generally declining in the following two quarters. Purchase intent is registering its usual March decrease, according to 451 Research's Voice of the Connected User Landscape (VoCUL) Leading Indicator panel. That said, demand is stronger than a year ago in what could be a sign of stability for the North American smartphone market going forward. This VoCUL survey on consumer smartphone buying consisted of 3,659 primarily North American respondents. It was conducted March 12-April 4, 2018. The quarterly survey also looked in-depth at manufacturer preferences among planned buyers, satisfaction among current smartphone users, as well as purchase channels and device payment.
