Account Executive - Mid-Market IT Sector (Boston/NYC Based)

Title:             Account Executive - Core Accounts (Mid-Market IT Sector)
Location:     Boston/NYC

Overview:
451 Research, an independent IT analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, is seeking an Account Executive. This position will involve prospecting and closing new clients as well as some retention of existing clients. 

The position could be based in New York or Boston offices and offers a competitive total compensation package and room for growth within the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic track record, strong communication and relationship management skills and three or more years of experience interacting with clients. Knowledge of the technology industry or syndicated research is a preferred, but not an absolute requirement. 

Prior experience in Technology Sales, Market Research, and Technology Research/Solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate new sales opportunities through systematic prospecting, outbound calls and trial management.
  • Drives sales by focusing on serving, retaining, and growing our core clients and by developing the strategic selling skills of the team.
  • Question and uncover prospects’ unique business needs in order to manage the trial process, tailoring information that 451 Research provides to those needs.
  • Clearly and effectively work with the Senior Director, Core Accounts to demonstrate 451’s value proposition through in-person and over the phone presentations.
  • Consistently achieve monthly sales targets and quarterly goals.
  • Liaise with client services to ensure clients gain maximum value from research relationships and develop global account strategies.
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • 2+ years of business development and account management experience preferred, 1-2 years in client-facing roles.
  • Direct sales experience preferred.
  • Understanding of basic research sales.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (phone experience a must).
  • Experience with all MS office applications, a CRM software, and a proven ability to be resourceful leveraging technology and web platforms for enhanced due diligence.

Account Receivable Specialist, Full Time Temp (NYC Based)

Title: Junior Accountant/Account Receivable Specialist (FT Temp)
Location: NYC

The 451 Group, an independent technology-industry analysis and datacenter-certification provider, is seeking a Junior Accountant/Account Receivable Specialist to join the accounting department in our fast-paced New York office. The ideal candidate for this position is a well-organized, detail-oriented and hard-working individual.

You must have:
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (Pivot Table, Vlookup)
  • Intacct accounting system experience
  • Solid accounting knowledge – GL, AP, AR, journal entries and bank reconciliations.

  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years related experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Process sales orders and generate invoices with proper coding and revenue recognition, per company requirements.
  • Receive and process client payments by check, credit card and wire.
  • Client vendor registrations, set-up, trouble-shooting and customer service.
  • Liaise with foreign entities with regard to invoicing
  • Prepare and analyze AR aging reports.
  • Compile account reconciliations, schedule preparation and journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Monthly account analysis to identify, research and resolve variances.
  • Support and assist in month-end close activities and preparation of financial statements.
  • Assist with general accounting activities and international operations as needed.

Client Service Representative (NYC/Boston Based)

Title: Client Service Representative (Core/Financial Services Accounts)

The company’s analysts provide critical and timely insight into the market and competitive dynamics of innovation in emerging technology segments. Clients of the company – at vendor, investor, service-provider and end-user organizations – rely on 451 insights to support both strategic and tactical decision-making for competitive advantage.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic track record, strong communication and relationship management skills and at least two years of experience interacting with clients. Knowledge of the technology/financial services industry is preferred, but not an absolute requirement.

The Client Service Representative works in collaboration with the sales team to ensure all needs of our clients are met.  The Client Service Representative is responsible for proactively driving, monitoring, and increasing client usage and satisfaction with contracted deliverables.  This includes proactive and reactive service by way of client requests and inquiries, coordination of the on-boarding process, web ID set-up, event participation, aligning client initiatives with relevant research, etc.  

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment and has a keen customer service orientation.  

Core job functions include:

  • Field inbound client requests and research inquiries.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of 451 Research’s analysis, data and analyst expertise.
  • Proactively interact with clients regarding their business and technology issues to align with 451 Research’s analysis and data.
  • Input key data into internal CRM system (Salesforce.com) by documenting all client interaction, as well as monitoring time logged for analyst/sales interaction.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Welcome Calls with new and renewing clients.
  • Partner with our I.T. team to troubleshoot any access issues clients may experience.
  • Conduct website training for clients.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and programs for internal and external clients.
  • Work with Marketing to support and execute messages to client base (e.g., product/service changes, company changes, and email campaigns).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree. 
  • At least 1+ year of experience or some internship experience in Client Service or Account Coordination role, Financial Services Industry background preferred.
  • Ability to be sociable, flexible, open-minded and creative.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (phone experience a must).
  • Experience with all MS office applications, a CRM software (salesforce.com ideal), and a proven ability to use a computer intelligently.

Content Marketing Specialist - 451 Alliance (Boston Based)

Title: Content Marketing Specialist – 451 Alliance

We are seeking a bright, creative, goal-oriented, and hardworking individual to fill our Content Marketing Specialist position to join our 451 Alliance team. The selected candidate will create new graphics & digital content, create & manage email campaigns and coordinate with our partners.   

451 Alliance conducts large-scale surveys via its network of enterprise technology and IT management professionals. These individuals have a broad range of expertise – including data center technologies, digital infrastructure, cloud computing, networking, storage and other technology areas. The intelligence provided by 451 Research provides a real-time view of global changes in business technologies and IT spending, along with company trends.

We are looking for a prolific and talented content creator to write and produce various projects and blog regularly, to expand our awareness of our membership program, and drive acquisition, engagement and retention of members. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Create free resources each month to drive awareness, member acquisition and engagement (examples include ebooks, whitepapers, infographics, guides, video, etc.).
  • Blog on an ongoing basis to attract site visitors through search and social.
  • Grow our opt-in email subscriber base by providing them regular, helpful content that’s in-tune with their needs, and motivate them to join and be active members.
  • Create and execute email marketing programs for acquisition, retention and rejuvenation of members.
  • Collaborate with the team, deployment vendors, management, analysts, and external influencers to produce relevant content that meets the needs of both key stakeholders and our audience.
  • Create, measure and optimize our paid marketing using vendor-specific dashboards, Google Analytics, and HubSpot landing page sources reports.
  • Convince others that your creative ideas are worth investing time and effort in. This role is at the core of the membership team, and others will rely on your work every single day.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience.
  • Past experience producing content for the web specifically, as well as channel-specific knowledge (blog, LinkedIn, SlideShare, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the various paid marketing channels and technologies, including paid search, retargeting, social network advertising (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and etc.), and content distribution and placement networks.
  • Past experience building audiences online.
  • In-depth knowledge of the HubSpot Content Optimization System to blog and produce smart CTAs according to visitor lifecycle stage.
  • A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions.
  • HTML/CSS, Adobe Creative Suite.

This position will involve prospecting and closing new clients as well as some retention of existing clients. The position is based in our New York or Boston or San Francisco offices and offers a competitive total compensation package and room for growth within the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic track record, strong communication and relationship management skills and seven or more years of sales experience with external clients. Knowledge of the technology industry or syndicated research services is a plus, and prior experience servicing or supporting large/strategic/enterprise market/accounts is highly preferred.

This is an individual contributor role.
