Account Executive - Information Technology (Boston Based)

Title:              Account Executive - Information Technology/Core Accounts
Location:       Boston

451 Research, an independent IT analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, is seeking an Account Executive. This position will involve prospecting and closing new clients as well as some retention of existing clients.

The position could be based in our Boston office and offers a competitive total compensation package and room for growth within the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic track record, strong communication and relationship management skills and three or more years of experience interacting with clients. Knowledge of the technology industry or syndicated research is a preferred, but not an absolute requirement.

Prior experience selling to research is a plus. US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.

  • Generate new sales opportunities through systematic prospecting, outbound calls and trial management.
  • Question and uncover prospects’ unique business needs in order to manage the trial process, tailoring information that 451 Research provides to those needs.

Accounts Payable Clerk (NYC Corporate Office)

The selected candidate will be responsible for all aspects of accounts payable process and assisting with general accounting activities and operations.

•    Process all vendor invoices and employee expense reimbursements with proper coding per company requirements.
•    Maintain and analyze AP aging reports.
•    Resolve vendor billing and employee expense reimbursement discrepancies.
•    Prepare analysis and reports associated with accounts payable.
•    Maintain vendor documents.

Client Service Representative (NYC Based)

The Client Service Representative works in collaboration with the sales team to ensure all needs of our clients are met.  The Client Service Representative is responsible for proactively driving, monitoring, and increasing client usage and satisfaction with contracted deliverables.  This includes proactive and reactive service by way of client requests and inquiries, coordination of the on-boarding process, web ID set-up, event participation, aligning client initiatives with relevant research, etc.

Director of Product Management (Boston Based)

Title:                      Director of Product Management

451 Research is a leading global analyst and data company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation. We are looking for a talented, driven and entrepreneurial leader to build and execute strategy for 451 Research’s product category as our Director of Product Management.

The Director of Product Management will be responsible for synthesizing customer insight to define and promote 451 Research’s value proposition, identify areas for growth and innovation within the category, manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, and lead cross-functional team members in delivering a portfolio, along with improving outcomes and strengthening 451’s newest product. This individual will be responsible for the overall end-to-end ownership of product strategy, product design, product development oversight, product marketing and product launch.

1)    Product Management Process (PMP):
a.    Establish and coordinate an annual PMP.
b.    Draft and create PMP forms.
c.    Effectively communicate overall project portfolio status to the operating committee (OC).
d.    Communicate to analyst teams/research directors/product owners about annual activities as part of PMP.
e.    Manage company-level project reprioritization processes.
f.    Communicate consistently with the organization on major launches, status of roadmap and goals.
g.    Work closely with the OC and other key team members and evaluate our existing platform offering/strategy, and determine a sensible path forward. Based on that path, develop KPIs/goals, and design and prioritize the product roadmaps for execution.
h.    Maintain fortnightly product status chart for all new and changed products.

2)    Product Marketing:
a.    Develop client-ready collateral and set training strategy on the features/benefits of new products and enhancements.
b.    Develop, design and execute internal and external press releases, news articles and blogs/infographics and facilitate internal and external communications related to specific product marketing.
c.    Partner with the Communications and Social teams to tell a story to the press, analysts, customers and prospects that demonstrates our unique value and right to win.
d.    Partner with the Demand Generation team to deliver compelling campaigns to target specific markets that increase buzz and awareness, drive qualified leads to the sales team and demonstrate thought leadership.
e.    Size and define market segments, and understand the competitive dynamics of targeting, positioning, pricing, packaging and differentiation.
f.    Oversee the development of marketing objectives for the product portfolio, including target audience, positioning, competitive set, pricing and packaging, and assist the marketing team with strategy execution.

3)    Sales Enablement:
a.    Coordinate and facilitate analyst and sales meetings based on product renewal calendar.
b.    Establish relationships with senior sales staff and collaborate with multiple teams to establish product strategy.
c.    Engage and help strategically with top 25 renewals.  
d.    Identify upsell opportunities and proactively suggest ideas for enhancing the product roadmap based on data and research, which can be used to rationalize product decisions.
e.    Serve as a point person for any product questions.

4)    Product Lifecycle management:
a.    Manage/enhance existing products and develop new product categories in line with 451 Research’s product and revenue objectives.
b.    Develop and continually iterate on a long-term strategy across multiple interacting products/missions.
c.    Oversee product launches, development, testing and P&L.
d.    Lead new product design and positioning by drafting product vision and requirements document for new products, and designing and developing overall user experience; guide teams (product engineers, sales reps, implementation configurators) regarding needs of product, priorities, and timeline for deliverables and solutions.
e.    Develop and execute the product strategy for 451 Research channels and drive pipeline planning for the product portfolio throughout the products' lifecycles.
f.    Convene pricing committee with Chief Research Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and SVP – Research.
g.    Examine revenue and report metrics on a monthly basis and take proactive steps to ensure alignment with the overall portfolio revenue and product health.
h.    Regularly evaluate product performance relative to objectives and implement enhancements or retirement.
i.    Regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility, ensuring the product/project stays aligned with organization objectives.
j.    Identify clear and responsive strategic KPIs that will help measure how well we are executing.
k.    Closely monitor all analytics and perform quantitative analysis that will help guide product decisions.

5)    Reporting by Product:
a.    Measure renewal rates by maximizing retention of high-risk accounts through tools and analytics.
b.    Inquiry rates measurements.

Work Experience:
•    5-10 years of in-depth product management knowledge and experience in the technology or analytics space and experience in product management from conception to delivery.

Director, Panel and Membership Management (Boston Based)

The Director, Panel and Membership Management is responsible for planning, innovating and executing programs to drive our fast growing 451 Alliance communities.  These communities, or panels, are created and grown principally as a source of survey-based market research. This is a highly visible and strategic role. The membership network is already critical to the ongoing success of numerous 451 Research services, including the Voice of the Enterprise research products. Over time, expanding both the size of 451’s communities and diversifying the ways we engage with them is a strategic driver for the company as a whole.

We seek a highly qualified individual who can take an analytically-driven approach to expanding our membership of 50,000+ IT professionals and ensure ongoing engagement activities.

In this position you will oversee the day to day operations of our membership team and serve as a thought leader in developing programs to expand & diversify our membership, optimize our content-based incentives program and build our membership retention strategies.

There are five key elements to our Alliance programs and success criteria for this role include:
  • Member Recruitment & Accreditation: Develop and implement integrated recruitment campaigns based on a mix of traditional list recruiting efforts as well as digital, including social media, PPC, content marketing and influencer relations.
  • Member Retention & Engagement: Develop and implement member retention programs, segmenting our 451 Alliance members and catering to their specific interests leading to high levels of engagement; Respond to all member requests

This Receptionist is responsible for: managing the reception desk, responding to calls, greeting clients and visitors, scheduling conference rooms, ordering kitchen and rest room supplies and maintaining lobby area and conference rooms.
