Research Associate I - (Boston Based)

451 Research, a technology-industry analyst firm, seeks self-motivated individuals with strong writing and interpersonal skills to join its Associates program.  This program is designed to develop strong candidates into Technology Industry Analysts within 3-5 years. The single most important requirement for this position is curiosity about the industry and the ability to look beyond what is happening to understand why it is happening, and how it affects specific players in the market. Beyond that, the candidate must have excellent Web research skills as well as problem-solving skills. The applicant must be highly organized and self-directed. The ideal candidate would have some understanding about the enterprise information technology marketplace; however, this is not a requirement.

451 Research prides itself on the quality of the writing that goes into its research reports. As such, not only does the analysis need to be objective, but we expect clarity, logic, brevity and craftsmanship. Two writing tests will be part of the selection process.

The associate will be responsible for meeting deadlines for projects, most of which will involve secondary research. Projects will be assigned from across the sectors that 451 Research covers. The following is an illustrative list of responsibilities:

  •     Conducting competitive analysis on specific market segments
  •     Conducting background research on markets we cover
  •     Scoping and segmenting new markets for potential coverage

We are recruiting for a brand-new position: the “Go 2 Market (G2M) Account Manager”. You will report to the SVP, Marketing, who manages this portfolio of business for 451 Research.
The G2M Account Manager is responsible for supporting both the sales process and the delivery process. You’ll work closely with Sales, the consulting team, and the SVP, Marketing to create proposals for content marketing programs in our strategic accounts. You’ll then play an active and critical role in fulfilling programs that exceed client expectations. You’ll partner with the Customer Service Representative (CSR) team, analyst team, production team and directly with the client to ensure all requirements of the Go 2 Market programs are met.

We are seeking a self-starter; someone who can balance multiple and often competing requests. Someone who can adhere to standard operating procedures for webinars, videos and other custom product deliverables while satisfying unique client requests. Someone who can translate client requests for our analyst team and support the sales team in the pursuit of new business.

Director, Account Based Marketing (ABM) (Boston Based)

We are seeking a highly motivated, senior marketing talent who is ready to build an Account Based Marketing (ABM) program from the ground up. You will join a dedicated and supportive marketing team with a great deal of content marketing know-how. Reporting directly to the SVP of Marketing, you will develop the processes, strategies and content requirements needed to execute best-in-class ABM campaigns and programs. You will partner with the sales team to engage and expand our footprint within our top 20 accounts, and design a customized marketing outreach plan for each of your client accounts with the goal of driving retention and growth.

Principal Consultant (Boston Based)

Position Summary:
451 Research Advisory delivers bespoke market and industry research and prescriptive guidance to information technology vendors, service providers, investors, and enterprises.  

The Principal Consultant is primarily responsible for delivering and managing 451 Research Advisory projects, and supporting business development and sales.

Working with other consultants and 451 Research Analysts, the Principal Consultant analyzes client requirements, assembles existing qualitative research and data, designs and conducts new primary research, compiles and analyzes results, and develops and presents customized deliverables including reports and presentations to our clients.

Senior Analyst, Internet of Things (U.S Based)

About the Role
451 Research’s Internet of Things research channel provides insights for our clients on topics such as IoT platforms, connectivity (local and wide area), gateways, big-data analytics, connected devices, and vertical markets including manufacturing, energy/utilities, and transportation. Working in conjunction with the critical infrastructure channel, the cloud channel, the data analytics channel, and others, our IoT team writes about the innovative technology vendors and service providers in this sector, as well as industry trends and potential future developments.

Our focus for this role is an individual who can add to our growing bench of analyst expertise in IoT by writing research reports, speaking at customer and public events, delivering webinars, strategy days and custom consulting projects, and helping build depth in IoT verticals such as energy/utilities, smart buildings, and smart cities.

Person Profile

We are looking to recruit a Senior Analyst with a good mix of written and interpersonal skills. Top priority is the ability to write clearly and succinctly, but also important is the ability to present with confidence to a group of industry peers. As a Senior Analyst, you will be expected to work independently within a geographically dispersed, global team, focusing on specific areas of IoT research.
