Reports
Bankers anticipate rising deposit balances in the year ahead (Spotlight)
The majority of US bankers predict improving expectations for deposit growth over the next 12 months. The shift comes as the Federal Reserve lowered interest rates for a third time on Dec. 10, and with the possibility of another cut in 2026, which influenced funding costs and contributed to adjustments in banks' outlooks.
Bankers expect solid loan growth as economic outlook improves (Spotlight)
US bankers expect substantial loan momentum over the next year as a result of improved economic stability and a steeper yield curve with lower short-end rates boosting bank profitability and creating tailwinds for growth, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence's fourth-quarter 2025 US Bank Outlook Survey.
