Red Hat (RHT) - Servers and Virtualization Vendor Profile24 Jan, 2012 ~
As Linux grows as a mainstream environment, Red Hat is establishing itself as the dominant provider. This bodes well for future revenue opportunities, but the market is in transition and evaluating the next generation of innovators, where Red Hat now fails to resonate. As virtualized, cloud-ready infrastructure becomes the default IT architecture, Red Hat will need to broaden its offerings to compete on the same playing field as VMware and the plethora of vendors vying for position in the cloud management arena. This is unlikely to be a problem in the short term but will need to be addressed in coming years.
