Broadcom adds Fibre to its diet with $5.5bn Brocade buy

With the ink drying on a $37bn purchase that doubled its business and brought it a new name, Broadcom's at it again with the $5.5bn all-cash acquisition of Brocade. As it has done before, Broadcom (formerly known as Avago) plans to keep the bits that fit its strategy and sell the rest.
