    TomTom combines high-definition mapping and crowdsourced data from vehicles for real-time location intelligence

    The company is taking advantage of its internal mapping expertise, as well as data from its over half-a-billion-strong network of equipped vehicles, to deliver a real-time mapping and location service to automotive clients. TomTom is also partnering with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers on user-interface and vehicle-to-cloud integrations with network operators.

    Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA to collaborate on 'software-defined vehicles'

    The German luxury carmaker and GPU leader are jointly developing a next-generation computing architecture for new Mercedes-Benz vehicles beginning in 2024. NVIDIA's recently unveiled DRIVE AGX Orin platform will be the centerpiece of the architecture, integrating inputs from multiple sensor types distributed throughout the vehicles.

    Amazon self-drives into the robotaxi sunset with purchase of Zoox

    Amazon has acquired Zoox, a maker of autonomous vehicles for ridesharing, joining its many other bets on self-driving cars, robots and trucks. The buyer had made indirect moves in the transportation space previously with investments in Aurora (self-driving cars) and Rivian (delivery trucks), as well as a partnership with Embark (long-haul trucking).
